Rule Changes New Business The Mining Safety Board will hold a Public Meeting and Hearing at: 10:00 A.M. During the meeting, the Mining Safety Board will conduct a public hearing on proposed rules for mining safety proposed by the Mining Safety Board and State Mine Inspector. The Board will consider comment regarding rules for 19.6.2 NMAC, Emergency Notification and 19.6.4 NMAC, Certification of Coal Mine Officials. Click below for a draft of the new rule proposals. At the conclusion of the hearing, the Mining Safety Board may deliberate and vote on the proposed rule changes. Old BusinessOn Thursday October 2, 2009, a MSB meeting was held. During the meeting, the Mining Safety Board conducted a public hearing on proposed rules for mining safety proposed by the SMI to the Mining Safety Board. The Board will considered comment regarding the proposed rules for the penalty structure for failure to report an accident. It then voted to approve a rule change based on the input from the hearing
